Context

Shopping malls and commercial venues encounter significant energy consumption challenges due to their intensive use and vast open spaces which need to be cooled in summer and heated in winter. With fluctuating energy prices this can also be a severe financial burden on the financial viability of a venue.
Moreover, modern consumers increasingly demand environments that prioritize sustainability. At the same time they are not willing to compromise on comfort and are attracted by visual identity, and exclusivity. They seek spaces that offer a exclusive and unique experiences for their shopping and urban leisure activities. Optimal lighting, precisely controlled temperature and fascinating architecture create attractive venues that overshadow competing localities.
Climate change will further increase the energy consumption of malls, particularly in summer. Facilities that reduce their environmental impact and visually implement sustainable practices will continue to hold significance for the local customer base.

Solskin Implementation

Solskin seamlessly integrates into the commercial venue’s design, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics. Solskin Facade installations over window areas optimize daylight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting while adding a striking architectural element. This innovative approach fosters a brighter, more inviting atmosphere, strengthening the connection to the outdoors and promoting sustainability.
In atriums, courtyards, food courts, lobbies, and restaurants, Solskin Skylight intelligently regulates natural light and temperature, ensuring year-round comfort while lowering energy consumption. Meanwhile, Solskin Pergola provides shading for outdoor terraces and waiting areas, making them more enjoyable in various weather conditions.
By integrating Solskin across facades, skylights, and outdoor spaces, the venue achieves a harmonious blend of energy efficiency, comfort, and contemporary design.
