Projektüberblick
The Campo area project, located at Eulachpark in Oberwinterthur, is a pioneering development by SKKG and Terresta Immobilien- und Verwaltungs AG. Designed as a hub for work, life, and culture, it incorporates a diverse mix of offices, workshops, businesses, and residential spaces, all while serving as a key meeting point for the neighborhood. Sustainability is at the heart of the project, shaping both its environmental goals and architectural design.
A standout feature of the project is the integration of Solskin incorporated onto several facade surfaces of the compact buildings housing the SKKG collection. These facades, combined with roof photovoltaic (PV) systems, enable the buildings to generate solar energy while maintaining their aesthetic appeal. The design harmonizes with the building’s geometry, enhancing energy efficiency without compromising visual integrity.

Kontext
The mixed commercial and residential quarter in Winterthur, Switzerland required a new solution for its facades that would both modernize its appearance and complement its architectural style. The design had to integrate seamlessly with the building's geometry while efficiently capturing solar energy to generate electricity. This innovative facade solution not only boosts the building's energy efficiency but also preserves its aesthetic integrity, achieving a balance between sustainability and visual appeal.
Solskin Implementation
For the refurbishment of the Campo area within Eulachpark, the project design “Winti brännt” - translated to Winterthur burns, will seamlessly integrate Solskin across several facade zones. For instance, the facades will harmoniously combine with greenery on the balconies, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. This innovative solution will transform the facade surfaces into electricity-generating systems through the use of Solskin's climate-adaptive movable facades.

Projektergebnis
The integration of Solskin’s climate-adaptive facades into the Campo area will deliver significant benefits. By transforming the building facades into electricity-generating surfaces through photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy consumption will be greatly reduced, reinforcing the project's sustainability focus.
The facades will blend seamlessly with the building’s geometry, preserving architectural integrity while enhancing energy efficiency. The inclusion of greenery on balconies will add visual appeal, and the dynamic, movable design of Solskin’s facades will optimize solar energy collection in response to environmental conditions.
